Taking students on work experience can pay dividends regardless of the size of your business. Students can bring fresh ideas to a company, help develop projects that you haven’t had time to carry out, and may even show real potential as a future employee.
The College can work with you to put in place a personalised work experience programme that suits your needs as a business, just fill out the contact form below and we’ll get in touch with you.
Live project briefs provide students with the opportunity to experience working to a client-led brief. From graphic design and filming to product design, these projects can cover a variety of topics and lead to students showing how innovative and creative they are.
We offer a variety of ways to ensure our curriculum is delivering the skills and knowledge required for each industry sector, giving our students the best opportunities once they complete their training with us. We hold regular meetings that bring together teaching staff and relevant businesses to optimise our curriculum effectively.
A great opportunity for businesses to get involved with the College and our students is through industry expert talks, either as part of a lecture or workshop. These talks can also offer great networking opportunities for students looking for work experience or considering an apprenticeship.
We offer the opportunity to do joint events with the businesses we work with, along with collaborating to bid for funding to develop facilities, provide training and develop community based projects. We can also participate in a tender for training and apprenticeship contracts as the lead training partner. If you’d like to discuss this with us, please use the contact form below.
Mentors are there to guide their students, usually by email or telephone conversations, to help them with their studies and to reach their goals. Being a student mentor provides businesses an opportunity to connect with students and help shape their future workforce.
Weston College organises several events throughout the year, attended by learners, the business community, governors and senior political members. Sponsoring an event is a great way for employers to raise their profile among some key figures and our learners.
