Progression routes

Weston College is the only education provider in North Somerset that enables you to progress from an entry-level course to a degree.

Our impressive and ever-growing course provision means more and more students are choosing to remain at Weston College for the duration of their education.

We have clearly defined progression routes for students, whether you have a specific career in mind or aim to move on to a university-level course.

We offer a fantastic choice of 50+ degrees with our partner universities, Bath Spa University and the University of the West of England.

Our degree programmes, developed with our partner universities and employers, create a blend of academic and work-based learning that suits both students and employers.

If you have a clear view of the career you want to pursue, our vocational qualifications offer a variety of levels to enable students to progress in their chosen area.

And if you’ve chosen this route, we also provide the opportunity for students to move on to work-based qualifications, such as apprenticeships. We offer 50 apprenticeships including job roles in a wide range of industries; from construction to hospitality, childcare to estate agency.

One Message, Different Voices

Take a look at this powerful film made by the staff of Weston College to show how important it is for everyone from different backgrounds to be included. The film shares heartfelt stories and interviews with a diverse group of staff, showing how accepting different identities and backgrounds can make a big difference. Its purpose is to encourage viewers to think about their own biases and work towards making our community more welcoming to all. We invite everyone, regardless of their background, to join us and be a part of our journey toward a more inclusive future.

Halo workplace logo

Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In this workplace, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.
